Ivor Cutler wrote brief notes on each of his selections for this
compilation. The note on the Arvo Pärt selection states that “Arvo
Pärt’s Beatus manages to combine rich, warm harmonic song with just the
right amount of juxtaposed semitones, which jar the teeth and raise the
hackles delightfully. Pärt is great.” 2. The Arvo Pärt selections are
not tracked in their original order and only 4 of the 7
Magnificat-Antiphons are available on this compilation. 3. For further
